Team Campbell

Team Campbell is a partnership in every sense of the work and our complementary skills come into play when assessing properties, staging open homes and negotiating final sales prices. We have now been involved in property for over 15 years, from clearing estates to owning our own home, purchasing our investment properties and finding or selling properties for clients. Having our own specialist expertise and perspectives on property means together we are able to cover all the bases when it comes to assisting our clients with their real estate needs.

Logan Campbell

I’ve been working hard to get sales and negotiating deals since I was a kid working in my parents’ shop. They owned an estate clearing business and the largest second-hand shop (at the time) in Auckland. I was running the shop on my own from the age of 15 and it taught me lessons about reading body language and understanding people from a range of backgrounds and cultures that I still draw on today. It could be as simple as knowing that when people tell you their ‘best price’, this may actually be far from their limit. It may be the actual figure they give you, or a few thousand more than this, or even a hundred thousand more, depending on their cultural background and whether they expect and are used to negotiating.

Working for my parents at such a young age also taught me the value of hard work. Just being available is often the difference between getting a deal and losing that opportunity. That’s why my phone is always on and if I’m in a meeting, or have to turn it off, it automatically diverts to Mel. These days everyone is busy and it’s vital that we can work as a team and fit around our clients’ schedules. I’m a naturally competitive person, being the first New Zealand male to qualify in taekwondo for the Olympics. I competed in Beijing 2008 games where I placed 14th overall. To compete at the Olympic Games was a real dream come true for me and I qualified for the 2012 London Olympic Games as well. It was hard work juggling training and running a business, but it was worth it. I now teach taekwondo part time for fun but channel most of my competitive urges into getting the best deal for my clients.

Melanie Maurice

Having worked in both the fashion industry and the world of finance, I have a design eye that’s also great with figures. Details are important: You’d be surprised how much just moving furniture can open up a space and dramatically improve your price. In the same way, your colour combinations and lighting choices have a huge impact on the final presentation and sale of a home. Ultimately, I use my expertise to pass on advice on how to make a home more saleable by making small interior and exterior adjustments. I know what to do to maximise price, and the people to contact to make quality changes quickly and cheaply.

For me, buying and selling property is all about the relationships you create. You can’t help but become personally invested in people and their properties when you are dealing with something that is so significant (and valuable). Week to week, we love to host people at our open homes; making them feel comfortable with a coffee or water so they get a sense of what it would be like to actually live in the space they are viewing. Building relationships in this industry is second nature to me, having started as a beauty therapist and makeup artist with my own business in a salon in Epsom at 18. I built up and sold two beauty businesses before moving on to hone my skills in accounts and administration. Now I bring all these business and design skills to the table to assist my clients through my work at Team Campbell and Co.
